Weathertex Pty Ltd manufactures sustainably produced weatherboards and panels using reconstituted hardwood. The product is extremely durable, easy to use and cost effective. Habitat Hardware stocks a range of Weathertex products suitable for both and internal lining and external cladding.
The Weathertex products have been manufactured in Raymond Terrace, just north of Newcastle since 1939 using a tried and tested method of breaking down and reconstituting timber fibres into a more usable form. This unique manufacturing process produces a superior product to traditional weatherboards and is far more environmentally responsible, boasting a 25 year warranty against rotting, splitting and cracking.
Habitat Hardware stocks Weathertex standard weatherboards and the Primelock range.
While the standard weatherboards are less expensive on a per board basis, the Primelock product produces a superior finish which can be 'secret nailed' and has concealed joints. The Primelock boards are much quicker and easier to install and can easily be installed by one person. Primelock also requires less preparation for painting than the standard Weathertex weatherboards. The extra material cost is more than offset by the labour savings.
All of the Weathtex products are preprimed in the factory which further reduces painting time and costs. The product is very stable so less likely to be affected by moisture, splitting and movement of the timber over time, which means less repainting.
